Wedding Stuff...
Time has absolutely flown by.
It's been almost 2 1/2 months since Peter proposed.
We've been "together" since 2001. But now we are making it official, and I am unbelievably excited.
Things seem to be falling into place, and now it's just the last minute things. My friend Maria is hosting a party for us Friday night - and that sounds like so much fun! She's been keeping it top secret and won't tell me anything!
This afternoon, after work, I'm going to the dentist - yuck. I actually rescheduled this visit though because Mom had the suggestion that I might like to get my teeth whitened - no, I don't have scary teeth, but I'd like to get them as bright as possible for pictures and everything. My dentist appointment was supposed to be at the end of the month (with Peter, we always go together) but they were able to fit me in today, with something called "impressions" taking place tomorrow. I'm assuming that has something to do with the whitening, but I'll have to ask.
I'm going to the eye doctor tomorrow - this week is sure about doctors! I'm going to try and get a new pair of glasses, even if I don't need them because of a prescription change - I've had these for just over two years I guess and I really need a spare pair. It drives my parents absolutely bananas that I don't have a spare pair.
Tonight Peter and I are headed to Cafe Riviera in the Concord Mall. They do this awesome all you can eat pizza night with a movie for $7.95 each every Tuesday all summer - it rocks! We went to nearly ever one last summer. Because my doctorate class is on Tuesday nights, we won't get to go every week this summer, but it's every other week right now, so we're going to enjoy it while we can! I'm not sure what movie is showing tonight - last summer it often ended up being movies we wouldn't usually have watched, so it was nice, no repeats. On the way there, I must pick up cat litter. I'm being a bad kitty Mommy this week, they really really need new litter. I've sifted it (of course) but it's getting kinda low.
School Stuff...
Only 4 more days until no more students. I love teaching - I really do - but I'm so ready for a break. Next week, I'll be working on my last major chore for the year - packing up my room. My classroom is moving from the annex building that I'm in now, to the main high school building. That should bring a lot of interesting, and hopefully, good, changes. My classroom is a lab though, and I'm a bit of a packrat, so I have a lot to pack and move! I'm excited about designing a new room though - I guess it is the scrapbooker in me - I always look for new and neat ways to display kids pictures around the room. I'm thinking about pre-designing a few bulletin boards so that all I will need to do is slide kids photos in as the year progresses. My program (Business) will be teaching a new curriculum next year, with a strong focus on Banking, so this week and next I will be exploring Banking resources for high school students.
Tech Stuff...
Peter's in the beta for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 and we have a little site right now - I love it! We're keeping a group calendar on it, and right now have a running grocery list, and places for documents and photos. It's a little buggy right now, which I guess is to be expected. Occasionally, like just now, I'll try to delete, edit, or update something, and it won't let me, just gives me this message "Unable to validate data." Hopefully, that will be fixed soon. I love having an easy place to get to so I can see things we need to buy or Peter's appointments, etc...
Napster.com is finally no longer blocked from work - I'm not sure who made that decision - but I think he/she is a fantastic individual! I love to listen to music while I work - and my kids do too - it really keeps them focused. Everything, XM, Napster, etc... used to be blocked, but things seemed to be more opened up again. Now if only they would unblock Flickr. Humph.
With a free account at Napster, you can listen to anything they have in their database for free! The only catch is that it can be listened to up to 5 times, and then if you want to listen to it again, you need to purchase the album.
