Earlier this week I placed my order for my new car, a 2005 Toyota Prius Package #4 in Driftwood Pearl. Driftwood Pearl is a fancy way of saying "Gold or Beige" in my humble opinion. It is the techiest looking car I have ever seen! Peter and I test drove one last Saturday while I was out looking at cars. I honestly didn't think that I would like it, but have talked about it over the years so we decided why not drive it? I was so surprised! Despite having an incredibly small engine, a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine, can anyone say golf cart?, it is incredibly peppy. The miles per gallon is the most amazing thing though, city 60 MPG, highway 51. Now, I know that's just estimates, but I have been checking out several Prius fan sites, and there seem to be quite a couple!, and it looks like most people are pulling over 45 MPG, and that thrills me just fine. I currently get in the low 20s per gallon in my 2002 Pontiac Sunfire, and gas prices continue to go up. I paid $2.06 per gallon for the cheap stuff yesterday. That seems to be about average for around here.
Check out the MFD (the multi-function display) panel! It's a touch screen, and all sorts of things can be found there, from climate control to current MPG stats, etc... Also, those same functions can be controlled from the steering wheel. I'm really looking forward to using it!
So Peter has decided to use a new software to run our blogs, Community Server, and everything appears to be up and running. I'm anxiously anticipating using the Gallery option, where supposedly I can post photos. I let my dot Mac subscription expire yesterday because I was feeling too cheap to renew it and now need a place to post photos where people can see them. It's nice to be able to direct friends and relatives to a web page where they can view the pics, without me having to send them as attachments via e-mail all the time. I've been pestering Peter about that so we'll see how long it takes til that gets up and running.
